Aussie Pet Mobile Franchise Model Overview

This franchisor grooms dogs and cats in self-contained, fully upfitted vans that drive to the customer's home, so there is no salon or storefront to lease. The system operated as Aussie Pet Mobile from 1999 and was rebranded Bark & Mane in June 2026 under Home Franchise Concepts, the parent of Budget Blinds and The Tailored Closet. New franchisees must buy at least three territories at once and add a new van for each territory on a set schedule, so this is a multi-van fleet business from the start. Each upfitted van costs well into six figures and is usually financed, which drives the investment and monthly carrying costs; working capital, grand opening marketing and insurance make up most of the rest. The franchisor prefers active owners, but a full-time trained manager is allowed, and groomers do the hands-on work. Franchised outlets have more than doubled in two years. Item 19 reports sales by fleet size.

Ideal owner profile

Fleet-minded operator ready to finance and manage multiple upfitted grooming vans
Able to recruit, schedule and retain professional groomers in a tight labor market
Comfortable with sizable van financing obligations alongside a multi-territory commitment
Active owner or one who will employ a full-time trained manager
Pet-industry, route-service or field-service management experience is helpful
