PostNet Franchise Model Overview

PostNet centers combine printing and document services, graphic design, signage, packing and shipping, and mailbox and mailing services in a 1,000 to 1,500 square foot leased retail storefront. The customer mix is part walk-in consumers shipping packages and part small businesses buying printed materials, banners and design work, so outbound business-to-business selling matters as much as foot traffic. The investment sits in the low-to-mid six figures, most of it paid to the franchisor as a turnkey center development package covering fixtures, signage and the computer system, with production printers leased. Each center needs a Designated Manager working at least 40 hours a week, typically the owner, though a trained non-owner manager is allowed. The system is entirely franchised, has existed since 1993, and has held roughly flat at about 200 U.S. centers for three years. Transfers require the buyer to complete training and bring the center up to current image standards.

Ideal owner profile

Full-time owner-manager or approved Designated Manager working at least 40 hours a week
Comfortable doing outside B2B sales to local businesses for print and signage work
Retail or customer-service experience managing a small hourly counter staff
Low-to-mid six-figure capital, with remodel funds if buying an older center
Owners of independent print or pack-and-ship stores looking to convert
