Tint World Franchise Model Overview

Tint World centers sell and install automotive aftermarket products and services: window tint, paint protection film, vinyl wraps, ceramic coating and detailing, mobile electronics, audio and security systems, and wheels and tires, with some centers adding residential, commercial and marine window film. The format is a leased showroom with service bays, so the investment is mid-six figures and swings mostly on leasehold improvements. Revenue depends on skilled installers and on retail selling of high-ticket upgrades to car enthusiasts, dealers and fleet accounts. The owner or a trained general manager must provide full-time on-premises supervision, and multi-unit owners need a manager at each center. Fees are heavy, with a weekly royalty and a large required advertising fund contribution, both carrying weekly minimums. The U.S. system is fully franchised and has grown each year, though growth slowed to a handful of net units in 2025. Transfers carry a fee of half the then-current franchise fee and may trigger a separate broker fee.

Ideal owner profile

Owner or trained general manager providing full-time, on-site supervision of the center
Retail sales skills for selling premium upgrades to car enthusiasts and dealerships
Able to recruit and keep skilled tint, film and electronics installers
Mid-six-figure capital for leasehold improvements, displays and inventory
Car enthusiasts or auto aftermarket shop owners looking to convert an existing center
