Blaze Pizza Franchise Model Overview

Blaze Pizza restaurants serve made-to-order, artisan-style pizzas built down an assembly line and fired in minutes, with salads, drinks and in some locations beer and wine, from leased traditional storefronts and a few mall and non-traditional sites. The build-out is substantial: leasehold improvements and a full equipment and decor package make up most of a total that runs from the high six figures to well over a million, and the franchisor, whose affiliates also franchise Chicken Salad Chick and Hissho Sushi, primarily sells multi-unit development rights. An operating principal holding at least 10 percent equity must devote full time to the business, and each restaurant needs a Blaze Certified Manager. Royalty is a flat 5 percent paid weekly, with 2 percent to the brand fund and 2 percent required local spend. The system has contracted sharply, losing about 70 units over three years, with 38 franchised closures in 2025 and company-owned restaurants gone by year end. Item 19 reports 2025 average gross sales with quintiles.

Ideal owner profile

Operating principal with 10 percent or more equity devoting full time to the restaurant
Experienced fast-casual or QSR operator comfortable with hourly staffing and certified-manager requirements
Seven-figure capital or financing for a new build or a major remodel on renewal
Multi-unit groups need a Director of Operations and get development-area rights
Clear-eyed about a contracting system and the unit-level sales spread in Item 19
