Bodybar Pilates Franchise Model Overview

BODYBAR studios offer reformer Pilates, EXO Chair and other apparatus-based classes, along with strength and stretching sessions, taught in small groups and privately by instructors certified in the brand's own method. Classes are sold and scheduled online, and studios also sell branded apparel and run instructor training. This is a membership-driven, storefront fitness business in leased retail space, and the investment is mid-six figures, mostly build-out and reformer equipment. A studio's results hinge on member acquisition and retention and on keeping a bench of trained instructors; each new studio hosts its own founding instructor training. Local marketing minimums are meaningful on top of the brand fund. An Operating Principal with at least 25 percent ownership must devote full time unless an approved studio manager is designated. The system is young and growing fast, from 25 to 73 studios in three years, all franchised, and Item 19 reports profit and loss and membership data for 38 mature studios.

Ideal owner profile

Owner with sales and community-marketing instincts to build and retain a membership base
Able to recruit, train and schedule a roster of part-time Pilates instructors
Mid-six-figure capital for leased build-out, reformers and opening marketing
Owner-operator, or an investor with an approved full-time studio manager
Multi-unit investors can use the Area Development Agreement for additional studios
