Brightway Insurance Franchise Model Overview

Brightway Locations are independent-style property and casualty insurance agencies selling and servicing home, auto and other personal and commercial policies through the franchisor's contracted carriers. The economics are unusual for a franchise: carriers pay all commissions to Brightway, which keeps 20 percent on new business and 50 percent on renewals and passes the rest to the agency, along with shared technology and errors-and-omissions costs. The investment is light, an office of a few hundred to 1,500 square feet, laptops and signage, but the largest line is six months of working capital, because a new agency takes time to build a renewal book. A licensed, approved Designated Agency Principal must work the business full time, and the agency must be run under that person's direct supervision. The system is Florida-heavy and has grown modestly over three years, while terminations and closures are steady. Brightway's parent also acquired the GlobalGreen insurance franchise system in 2025, and those agencies may convert.

Ideal owner profile

Licensed property and casualty agent or producer ready to work 40+ hours a week
Sales-driven builder able to recruit and manage additional producers
Enough working capital to carry six or more months while the renewal book grows
Comfortable with a commission-split model in which the franchisor collects all carrier payments
Strong performers can add locations without paying another initial fee
