Cinnabon Franchise Model Overview

Cinnabon Full Bakeries are compact retail stores, most often in enclosed malls, airports, travel plazas and convenience-store settings, that bake and sell cinnamon rolls, minibons and related beverages and snacks to walk-up customers. The franchisor is a GoTo Foods subsidiary (formerly Focus Brands) alongside Auntie Anne's, Carvel, Jamba, Moe's, McAlister's and Schlotzsky's, and the FDD also covers Express, Concession, co-branded and Swirl formats. A traditional-location Full Bakery is a mid-six-figure leased-space build driven by construction, millwork and a compact equipment package. Royalty is 6 percent of net sales plus an advertising contribution and a local marketing minimum. Owners need not work in the store, but each bakery must have two trained managers providing on-premises supervision and the franchisor discourages absentee investors; operators with four or more bakeries may need a director of operations. The system is essentially all franchised and grew sharply in the latest year. Item 19 reports net sales by quartile for mall, convenience and co-branded franchises.

Multi-unit operators fit the Multi-Unit Addendum and co-branded formats
