Handyman Connection Franchise Model Overview

Handyman Connection franchisees sell and manage small-to-medium home repairs and light remodeling, including carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing and electrical work, using a network of independent contractors or employee craftsmen recruited by the owner. Customers are typically charged a flat fee per job, with a share paid to the craftsman, and early jobs are capped in size. The business runs from a small leased office (home-based operation is not allowed) staffed by a customer service rep who books estimates and schedules work, so the investment is low six figures with a large share going to launch marketing. The owner or an approved full-time manager must devote at least 40 hours a week, and the core skills are sales, estimating and keeping a reliable bench of tradespeople. Many states require contractor licensing. Territories are non-exclusive for commercial work, and a minimum royalty applies from about the third year. The system has been flat at roughly 65 outlets, all franchised.
