Mr. Electric Franchise Model Overview

Mr. Electric franchises provide electrical service, repair, installation and upgrades for homes and businesses, such as panels, wiring, lighting, generators, EV chargers and code corrections, dispatched from branded service vehicles. Territories are sold by population, with a minimum around 100,000 people, so the fee scales with the size of the market. The investment is low-to-mid six figures, most of it in vehicles, a first-year marketing push and three months of working capital; the business can be run from a modest office or, with approval, a residence, and owners of an existing electrical contracting company can convert it and get a fee discount for rolled-in sales. The owner or a trained principal owner must directly supervise the business unless the franchisor agrees to a trained manager. The system is fully franchised and has grown steadily for three years. Buyers of an existing business pay a transfer fee based on the purchase price.

Ideal owner profile

Owner who directly supervises the business, or an approved trained manager with the franchisor's consent
Able to recruit, license and retain electricians and manage a fleet of service vans
Owners of an existing electrical contracting business looking to convert and grow
Low-to-mid six-figure capital, including a meaningful first-year marketing budget
Sales and customer-service minded operator focused on residential service calls
